Day 31: Final Fantasy IV *COMPLETE*

God, I absolutely love FF4. I would have a hard time choosing between 4, 6, and 7 as to which I like the most, because I like them all in a very unique way. 4 is just so very captivating to me, even though its got the old crystal storyline, I can't help but get sucked in. I even did all the sidequests again, because I didn't feel right not having Asura or Odin as summons (even though I never used them :3) or pressing forward through the Crystal Palace without getting everyone's ultimate weapons (despite you only really needing Edge&Kain at the end damage wise).

This is my 2nd playthrough of 4, and even though I knew what was going to happen I couldn't stop playing and getting to the next part of the story. Despite being all alone on Christmas eve and Christmas day, at least I wasn't thinking about it too much :3

I could literally sit here and go on and on about this game for hours, but I guess I'll just stop it here, because nothing more needs to be said. FF4 is fucking awesome.

I took more than one picture this time to try and capture the awesomeness of this game. From top to bottom is Whyt (who is sporting a Starry Night face) and Namingway telling me to play the game again because I will be even more OP this time. Next is the save data, as you'll notice since this is my 2nd time there are 2 stars (which makes me want to play again so I can get the third). Finally we have the Star Wars-esque ending scene with Cecilia, Theodor, and Kluya looking at the moons.

While I am very excited to play V because I've never played it before and everyone loves it, it is going to be tough to top this. Oh well, I need some sleep if I want any chance on starting V tomorrow.

Day 30: Final Fantasy IV

Not much to update here. I played FF4 already a few months ago and am blazing through it pretty quickly. I haven't completed it simply because I have been getting kind of tired of constant grinding all the time in all these games haha. I should be done with it by the day after X-mas hopefully, I've been watching Freaks and Geeks lately to take a break. I just want to be out of nintendo era games :|

Day 25: Final Fantasy III *COMPLETE*

This one only took me roughly 3 days, it's good to not have school :D Anyways yeah, not much to say. I thought FF3 was great as far as everything goes. Sure the story wasn't great, and my biggest gripe with it was with the last dungeon and not being able to save (even though I plowed through it like nothing), but the game had a lot of pluses.

I thought the job system was really fun, and I enjoyed leveling up all the different classes as I got them, outfitting them with whatever armor, and the characters were so cute :3

I HAD to do the side dungeons or I would have died in world of darkness, even though I told myself that I wouldn't do side dungeons for any of the games but... given how difficult the difficulty shot up from each dungeon, I didn't have a choice. Anyways, now that I have I-III under my belt, the only FFs I haven't beaten are V and IX (yes, the roman numerals for all of these is absolutely necessary), so I'm excited to get to those in the near future.

I don't know if I want to start 4 tonight or not but I probably should :/ I need a break for right now though.

And there's a pic, I tried to get one of the fin screen but I couldn't get to the camera in time. It seems the new thing that shows you've beaten it is the little stars in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Day 23: Final Fantasy III

So today was pretty much my first day of FF3. I played it a tiny bit over the weekend, but I got no more than like an hour into the story and then I just grinded for a bit. Today was my real first day of play and holy shit, I played the piss out of this game. I got the first 3 crystals and am going to the 4th now.

A lot of people say they don't really like FF3 and I remember when I first tried playing it I didn't really like it either, but compared to 1 & 2, this game is fucking awesome. The music in the DS is cool and I like it, though some complain that it lost its "rock" feeling, but hey, the overworld map music on the non-floating continent was FF2 main theme, badass. Anyways, I should probably be able to beat it tomorrow (or today theoretically, since its 4 in the goddamn morning).

Day 16: Final Fantasy II *COMPLETE*

Finally. FINALLY! Beat FF2. This game is so damn frustrating. The characters were good, the story development was good, the atmosphere was good, it felt like a solid platform to build Final Fantasy on. Unfortunately, the level up system was just horrible, spell acquisition was hard and uninspired, random encounters every 5 steps, and lets not forget that the game was hard as balls. There is just too much wrong with this game to say that it was "good", but it most certainly wasn't bad (as far as Final Fantasy standards go).

This game didn't have the neat little Game Clear stuff on the bottom of the save screen but if you look at the file selection on the left, you'll see a little speech bubble that says "Clear!" on it.

I am so behind schedule it's not even funny, oh well. I'm going to start on III on Friday hopefully, I am excited.

By the way, what's with all this ungaaaaah business?

Day 14: Final Fantasy II

I made a gigantic push today, mostly due to the fact that I have nothing else to do. I should have already beaten III by now but this week has been kinda hectic. I'm in the Jade Passage, which is the dungeon before the last dungeon. So far my complaints with II are as follows:

Final Fantasy II is hard as FUCK

Sweet mother of God, this game is SO difficult, and I find out from Barazza that the PSP version is easy type? What the fuck is normal type then? Sakaguchi comes to your house and beats the shit out of you with some brass knuckles? Motherfuck this game.

Anyways, at any rate I shoudl be done by tomorrow hopefully. I'll probably only have the one update when I finish II tomorrow and then not have another one for a while, its finals week so I should really try and read a bit. Hopefully I can squeeze some FF3 in this weekend, and maybe beat it before finals week is over, though I doubt it.

Day 11: Final Fantasy II

I played a bit yesterday, got past the dreadknought part. This week was kind of bad for it because I had school and such, but I'm hoping to beat FF2 within the next day or two. So far I'm liking it, the only thing that pisses me off is its missed potential. The ask/learn system feels really out of place, and the leveling system is annoying. Seriously, fighting the Sergeant in the waterfall cave was stupid as shit, I had to level up WHILE fighting him because I was doing 0 damage at first, and the only reason I Beat him was through critical hits. What the hell Square, what were you thinking? Anyways, as I was telling Barraza (<3), FF2 feels like Persona 3 for me. I enjoy the story/environment and such, but the actual "video game" aspect of it just is not implemented well. We'll see how it turns out later in the game, going to try and make a big push today!
