Day 6: Final Fantasy I *Complete*

Aaaaaaaand done. A little more than 17 hours and I wasn't using a faq. Considering this was the first itme I played the game, I don't think that's too bad. Here's a picture of my game completion screen, I'll try to do this for every game. Holy God, after uploading it I see how blurry it is, oh well. Don't laugh at my names either, I seriously had no idea what to call them and I didn't see the auto name picker <_< so these were the first things that came to my head, haha.

On to Final Fantasy II now! Also playing it on PSP.

Day 5: Final Fantasy I

Thursday I didn't play at all and Friday I hung out with friends. I played a ton today. I got the fire AND the water crystal today, go me! A lot of people say this game is kind of drab and uninspired but all things considered, it's not so bad. My new biggest complaint is that there is a random encounter every 5 goddamn steps. The random encounter transition doesn't help either, it's very pompous. The screen freezes and makes kind of an erupting sound effect, and the loading time is just enough to be annoying, but not enough to actually say that it's bad. Hopefully can beat it tomorrow, I'm already slightly behind schedule.

Day 2: Final Fantasy I

I only played a little bit today, got the earth crystal and then grinded for a bit so I could be ahead of the game (no pun intended) for a little while. Probably won't play much tomorrow since its Thanksgiving.

Introduction and Day 1

For anyone reading this you know what the drill is already, but just in case you don't or you forgot, my goal this winter is to beat every numbered Final Fantasy game (including Crisis Core, and if I have time, Tactics). My start day is today, with Final Fantasy 1, and my projected end day is January 18th. I will track my progress and thoughts here, so stay tuned!

Day 1: Final Fantasy I, Anniversary Edition (PSP)

I decided to play the PSP version of 1 and 2 because it's what most would call the "definitive" versions of the game. I hear that Dawn of Souls on GBA flows better and was overall a better presentation of the game, but I don't really care. The warrior sprite kind of looks like Cloud in sprite form. Badass. I played for a few hours today and stopped in the earth cavern. My only gripe so far is that you can't run on the world map and travel is REALLY slow.
